Panchkula sets up 42 sites to speed up vax drivePANCHKULA: After observing an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the district, the Panchkula administration has set up 42 health sites to speed up the vaccination drive.

Deputy commissioner (DC) M K Ahuja held a meeting with the officials of the health department. It was decided to provide vaccination at 42 health centres across the district and this would increase the pace of the vaccination drive to cover 60-plus category and those between 45 years and 59 years with comorbidities.

The DC also asked the incident commanders, panchayat and women and child development officers to make residents aware of the drive so that reach the nearest health centre to avoid the shots.

Chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Jasjeet Kaur said 42 special health centres for mega vaccination includes all the community health centre (CHCs) and primary health centres (PHCs), Kalka sub civil hospital, Government Senior Secondary School at Kalka main market, Government Senior Secondary School Saketri, Government Middle School Haripur, Government School Gharkhi Kotaha, Khatoli Raipur Rani and Marrawala health centre Nanakpur and the drive will be carried out between 9 am and to 4 pm.

At Ramgarh dispensary 8 am to 5 pm, ITBP Bhanu at 9 am to 5 pm, Dispensary Sector-21, urban dispensary, urban health centre Sector-16, Polyclinic Secor-26, MDC Sector-4, Ayush Dispensary Sector-9 at the time between 8 am to 4 pm.

The vaccination drive at the command hospital, subcentre Burj Kotian will be held from 8 am to 4 pm. The community centre at Sector 12A will hold the drive for frontline workers from 7.30 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. The Sector 6 Civil Hospital will hold the drive for frontline workers, as well as senior citizens between 10, am and 5 pm.

The CMO said all those between 45 years and 59 years with co-morbidities and 60-plus age group people can register themselves for the Covid-19 vaccination on their https://selfregistration.cowin.gov.in/ portal. If anybody faces any problem, they can visit their nearest health centre with a valid ID proof.
